Through the DLL, these educators will:
Act as entrepreneurs, research digital tools and experiment with a range of technologies in the classroom.
Help adult learners/clients become more confident in using technology for learning and employment.
Reimagine their roles as innovators and become technology advocates who support future professional development at the local level.
The DLL is managed by Michael Matos, EdTech Director for scaleLIT. Michael has over twenty years of experience in adult education. He has trained and coached dozens of adult educators and organizations in implementing and expanding their use of technology in classrooms. Subject matter experts are also on hand throughout the Lab to support each cohort and guide participants through the experimentation process. The Digital Learning Lab initiatives hold the promise of bridging the digital disparities, particularly for individuals facing significant challenges such as those impacted by the justice system, living with disabilities, residing in public housing, belonging to immigrant communities, and beyond.
